Item upgrading is a key element to maximize your gearing potential. It lets you add bonus stats and bonuses on top of your base level item's value.
Each upgrade template has several options that can be changed by using the edition GUI. These options include the upgrading reference and the chance to upgrade.
Upgrade components
As part of the 2.0 update, the method of upgrading the armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been improved. Upgrade components are available all over Night City, and the item you want to upgrade must have an upgrade slot. The game will show an overview of the expected stats for the item after upgrading. It will also show the component or material required. If you don't have the level or resource to upgrade an item the button will read "Blocked."
Weapons and armor can be upgraded along with a few trinkets and gathering tools. The upgrade slots on all of these can be filled with various upgrades that offer bonus features or other effects while the equipment is being used. These upgrades are available through crafting, purchased from a vendor or taken from the loot.
There are two types of gemstones and universal upgrades. Universal upgrades that are like gemstones, can be placed in any type of equipment, and provide an inferior bonus than other upgrade components. They are simple to obtain because they are dropped by enemies and taken from loot bins across the globe. Gems however, can be obtained by disassembling items or completing certain tasks.
Upgrades can be removed and replaced with new ones that fit in the slot of the weapon. However it will destroy any previous upgrades. All other upgrades, except for glyphs that are added to gathering tools are not able to be removed from an item after they are inserted. Infusions, which are placed in ascended equipment and legendary equipment, and enhancements are only extracted with an upgrade extractor, or by salvaging the item with an advanced salvage kit can be replaced once per hour.
Recycled items
In the two World Wars, the depletion of natural resources drove the world towards recycling. Nowadays, it is commonplace to recycle items like paper, aluminum and plastic, giving them new life as something different. In fact, recycling saves energy and prevents carbon dioxide from escaping into the atmosphere. It is also a great way to avoid landfills and conserve natural resources. It is nevertheless important to know what can and cannot be recycled.
A common mistake people make is to put the wrong things in the recycling bin. These items not only contaminate recycling equipment, but also cause contamination to the water. Reroll tokens

The value of an additional is calculated as a percentage of total stats of the item, and rerolling a token can change this value. The value of the item's recycling increases when it is upgraded. The value of the item's primary stat increases by a factor of 3 every time it's upgraded, however the value of the other stats may be different.
To roll an item again you need to click the dice icon next to the item in your inventory. You can also hit the button on a different lobby of another player, and select "Reroll". After you have rerolled, the item will disappear from your collection.
You can buy rerolls and other in-game items from Sagbe which is an in-game Token Shop trader. You can also earn free rerolls by redeeming active codes in Fire Force Online. These codes can be redeemed for a variety of items, including Reroll Tokens or Clan Reroll Tokens.
Rerolls can be helpful early in the game as you are attempting to build up your inventory. However, they are not the best way to improve your character's stats. Instead, you should concentrate on gaining more skill points. You can also get additional bonus points through the event levels.
You can also reroll the race of your character by using a race-reroll token which can be purchased from the Zen Market. This token can be redeemed through certain pack purchases or through the Token Shop. It lets you change your character's race once. It can also be redeemed as a reward for finishing Meg's cases during the Port Sarim invasion event.
Leveling
Leveling up an item during an upgrade process increases its power level and stats. It also increases the cost and amount of materials required to complete the upgrade process. The kind of material required is dependent on the type of item. For example, weapons make use of a mixture of Destruction Stones and Guardian Stones. Armor is made up of Harmony Leapstones, Shards and other materials. The addition of additional elements can boost the chances of success, but it is not a guaranteed outcome.

When the upgrade is in process while the upgrade is taking place, the NPC will display a window with two lines. The first line displays how many Tech Points will be gained when upgrading the item while the second displays an image of the upgraded appearance. The preview will not be exact for items that have modifications, but it will provide a rough idea of what you can expect.
The NPC will also show the cost of upgrading the item. This will include the cost of Technology Points, if applicable. It will also show the cost of an Accelerator, if you own one. Accelerators are available on the Exchange. They boost the Tech Points earned from upgrading by 50%. This bonus does not apply to the item's chance of quality which is reset once the item is at the mark level.
The Upgrade NPC also provides the option of transferring gear. This allows players to save the experience and upgrade progress from the gear they own and transfer it to a different item that is in the same slot. This can be useful for those who wish to swap out their gear but don't have enough money to buy a new set.
